“81.5% of families have difficulties paying for electricity” – Study: 19% do not heat their water in the kitchen at all, while there is no plan to eliminate energy poverty!
81.5% of Albanian families accept that they find it difficult to pay electricity bills. These data were gathered from the study on energy poverty, carried out by the EDEN Center with the participation of 650 families in rural areas from 12 districts of the country.
To save electricity, it turns out that 19% of the respondents do not heat their water in the kitchen.
On the other hand, it is found that in Albania there does not exist a long-term plan for the elimination of energy poverty.
Energy poverty is the situation in which a household cannot access energy services at home at a level that can cause difficulties in meeting its social and material needs.
The presentation of this study comes at a time when the Albanian government has revealed its plan to increase the price of electricity to 42 Lek/kWh for consumption over 800 Kwh.
