Funding for cyber security courses – The government focuses on computer science; who benefits?

The government is now supporting computer-related fields through professional training programs. The Ministry of Finances directive, which is already active, states that “programming” will benefit from financial support this year. The programming branches involved in the list of financial support are: coding, computer programming, application development, robotics, electronics, and data science; cyber security; artificial intelligence; software testing; software design; web design; user experience design; user interface design; machine learning; augmented reality; virtual reality; computer algorithms; and other similar fields.

This program guarantees that all registered unemployed jobseekers will be financed to the extent of 100%, but only for the maximum amount of $30,000 for the cost of the professional training course. On the other hand, each job-seeking participant is financed in the amount of 50% of the cost of the professional training course, but in no case more than 150 thousand ALL.

For those with disabilities, the private vocational training institution is financed for the elements of adaptation, in terms of special training programs, curriculum adapted in accordance with the degree and type of disability, and preparation of instructors to provide special training for this category, up to the amount of 200,000 ALL (after submitting the request).

The program aims to qualify and retrain job seekers and unemployed job seekers in order to prepare them and quickly integrate them into the labor market. Applications for funds are made by public or private vocational training institutions through e-Albania, which must also meet certain criteria, such as the activity lasting no less than three years, not having unpaid tax obligations, not being in bankruptcy process, etc.
