Our country faces a crisis, but businesses increase sales and decrease operational credit – Bank of Albania: Positive expectations, 47% of companies do not need a new loan
Businesses have reported good financial health to the Bank of Albania, which is why they have significantly reduced the need for loans to cover operational expenses. In its report for the first half of the year, the Bank of Albania states that more than 90% of the companies that were questioned have reported profit during this period, while 59% of them had sales as a single financial source for their activity.
Compared to the last six months, there was a decline of 2.9 percentage points, when 40% of the total enterprises declared that they currently have loans to pay. Likewise, the majority of borrowing enterprises (74%) declare that the loan payment reaches up to 20% of their income.
Regarding their plans to take loans in the future, about 47% of the enterprises declared that “there is no possibility” of requesting a bank loan during the next period. This weight has decreased for all sizes of enterprises compared to the previous period.
Regarding the expectations related to the expansion of activity or the increase of investments, the Bank of Albania reports that all enterprises give positive signals for the next 6 month period.
