The 56.8 million dollar loan for Qukës-Qafë Plloq is approved

The Parliamentary Committee on Productive Activities has approved the loan agreement for 56.8 million USD for the completion of lots I and II of the road Qukës-Qafë Plloç. During the meeting, there were numerous accusations from the opposition deputy for the delay in working on this road, as well as for the 72% increase from the initial costs.

On the other hand, the representatives of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy stated that the initial project had technical problems and didn’t accomplish some standards.

Meanwhile, the opposition deputies raised concerns about the fact that there were no complaints about this situation and the economic damage caused.

The Qukës-Qafë Plloç road axis has a total length of 43.8 km and will be a C1 category road where the speed limit will be 80–90 km/h. According to the statements made by the commission, it is expected to be completed within the year 2024. Meanwhile, another loan of 49 million USD will be necessary for it.
