Three agreements are signed: Soon, you can travel with identity cards in the Western Balkans.
The leaders of the Western Balkans signed three agreements on Thursday during the Berlin Summit held at the Federal Chancellery in Germany. The right to travel only with identity cards is one of the most important agreements, as it will allow citizens to travel without a passport.
The other two agreements signed concern the recognition of university degrees and qualifications for three professions: doctor, dentist, and architect. Graduates will no longer pay fees that range from 200 to 500 euros for the mutual recognition of their diplomas.
During the summit, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said that the promise of a European future is a task that is expected to come true.
The energy crisis and the commitment of the region to speed up the implementation of the Green Agenda for the Western Balkans were also in focus at the summit. In addition to the six leaders of the region, the President of the European Commission, Ursula Von Der Leyen, as well as the President of the Council were also present at the summit.
