Albania imports 40 thousand tons of meat and byproducts per year on average.

According to SCAN’s analysis of Instat’s foreign trade data, the import value of meat and by-products exceeds 6 billion ALL per year.

Said that, from which countries does Albania import meat the most?

Argentina, Austria, Brazil, Canada, Greece, Hungary, Italy, New Zealand, the United States of America, and Turkey are our country’s regular meat importers.

But the main imports of meat are carried by Brazil, followed by the United States of America and Italy.

From Brazil, Albania imports about 1.8 to 2 thousand tons of meat per month, whereas from the United States it imports 500 to 1,000 tons per month and only 200 to 500 tons per month from Italy.

What is worth noting by analyzing the numbers of the past 8 months is that the quantity of imports hasn’t notably changed, but the “bill” has significantly increased as a result of the global price increase.
