ARRSH opens the procedure: 6 pedestrian overpasses will be built in the first

Six pedestrian overpasses will be built along the first kilometers of the Tirana-Durres highway. Following the completion of the works to expand the road axis, the Albanian Road Authority has initiated procedures for the implementation of other elements of the project, focused on improving access for residents of the area.

The construction of these overpasses will enable residents living along the highway to move more easily and safely, through dedicated crossing points.

The tender procedure is expected to close on June 15. After the winner is announced, the works will begin immediately. In addition to the construction of 6 overpasses, the project also foresees the installation of a lighting system, the greening of the relevant areas, the installation of acoustic barriers, as well as other additional interventions.

According to the ARRSH project, the overpasses will be placed at these points: the first after the VEKO Group facility, the second about 50 meters after Polis University, providing access for residents of the Yrshek area. The third overpass will be built a few meters after QTU, the fourth near BRUNES, the fifth about 100 meters before the FedEx Albania facility, while the sixth near Autostar.

During an inspection of the works for the expansion of the Tirana-Durres highway, the Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Enea Karakaçi, emphasized that guaranteeing access for residents living along this road axis is one of the main components of the project, the implementation of which is expected to begin soon on the ground. It is intended that in September, when the new school year will begin, these interventions will be completed and can be accessible to citizens.
