"New approach, encouraging cooperation between farmers" - Rama: Concrete benefits. Balluku: Young people are increasing in agriculture

Prime Minister Edi Rama held a conversation today with farmers in Krutje, Lushnja, on increasing investments in agriculture, new fiscal incentives and innovations in the new national scheme to support this sector, with the aim of achieving the required standards of the EU market.
"Only by joining together does each one earn 30% more, it's a done deal. Alone in production, together in sales. Each one has their own land, but when they go to the market together, they create mass, create negotiating power for the price, create guarantees and create sustainability ," Rama said.
Meanwhile, the political leader of the Socialist Party of Fier District and MP Belinda Balluku said that thanks to the work of farmers, but also the support of government subsidies, investments have increased.
"We chose this farm because it is an example of successful cooperation. Two farmers, with different experiences in life, such as Erion Bufasi and Afrim Çela, have decided to join forces and further develop their agricultural activity. Erion started with only 2 acres of land and today has reached 30 acres or about 3 hectares. Together with Afrim, they manage an area of 5 hectares, building a sustainable enterprise ," said Balluku.
Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Andis Salla stated that increasing agricultural production and strengthening support for farmers remain the government's top priority.
"Our goal is to reduce costs for each planted area and increase agricultural production by strengthening the sustainability of Albanian farms, supporting investments in greenhouses, soil processing and other agricultural crops, so that farmers have more income and more security in their activity," said Salla.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Finance, Petrit Malaj, emphasized that the budget for agriculture has increased fivefold during the socialist majority's government.
"But how can we say that nothing has been done for agriculture when the agriculture budget alone has increased fivefold since we took office. We found the agriculture budget at 34 million euros, and today we have 160 million euros, " said Malaj.
Financing and support aim to foster cooperation among farmers, subsidizing those who seek to grow, strengthen, and develop not only production, but also processing through concrete projects.
