Poles do not "separate" from Albania / August brought about 40% more foreign visitors to our country

The month of August, which concludes the summer season, has marked a significant increase in the number of visitors to Albania, according to the latest INSTAT data. Compared to the same month a year ago, the total number of visitors has increased by 35.1%, reflecting an increased interest in domestic and foreign tourism.
In particular, non-resident visitors have registered a higher increase, of 40.6%, while Albanian residents have increased by 21.6%. The stays registered during the month of August have also had a significant increase of 33.3%, where foreign visitors marked an increase of 42.6%, compared to 11.7% by domestic visitors.
According to statistics, the largest increase in non-resident visitors was observed in coastal areas, with an increase of 47.8%, while accommodation structures such as hotels and similar units recorded an increase of 35.2%.
On the other hand, the central region continues to remain the destination with the highest number of foreign visitors. During the month of August alone, this region was visited by around 48 thousand domestic tourists and 238 thousand foreign tourists, testifying to a sustainable tourist activity even beyond the coast. Meanwhile, due to the summer season, the coastal areas have received the largest influx of domestic visitors, with around 121 thousand tourists.
In August 2025, the majority of foreign visitors accommodated in accommodation establishments in Albania came from Kosovo (21%), Poland (12%) and Italy (10%), while France and Germany each contributed 7% of visitors. Around 43% of tourists came from other countries, reflecting a diversification in tourism markets.
Another positive indicator is the room occupancy rate, which reached 61.5%, up from 59.6% in August 2024. This indicates a more successful tourist season, with increased demand for accommodation and a significant improvement in the performance of the tourism sector as a whole.
