Hoxha at SEECP: Albania's path towards the EU has entered the most decisive phase, the aim is to close negotiations by 2027

Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Ferit Hoxha, participated in the Ministerial meeting of the South East European Cooperation Process (SEECP) taking place in Sofia, where he took stock of the country's journey towards the European Union and the importance of regional cooperation.
Through a post on the social network X, Hoxha assessed that what began as a sincere aspiration has transformed over the years into a sustainable and influential project, positioning SEECP as the region's main political forum that promotes dialogue and good neighborly relations.
During his speech, the head of Albanian diplomacy emphasized economic cooperation and strategic projects such as the Berlin Process, the Growth Plan and Corridor VIII, which increase competitiveness and improve the lives of citizens. Among other things, Hoxha explained that the integration process has now entered a dynamic phase and that Albania's objectives remain clear.
"Our objective remains ambitious, but realistic: the conclusion of membership negotiations by 2027 and full membership by 2030," the minister declared, adding that this enlargement process must be merit-based and credible on both sides.
In closing his message, Minister Hoxha underlined that Albania will continue to invest decisively in regional cooperation to avoid weaknesses that could undermine stability or pave the way for negative external influences.
According to him, a stronger interconnection between the Western Balkan countries is not simply a necessity, but constitutes a strategic investment for the security, stability and prosperity of all of Europe.
