Over 41 thousand farmers applied to the national scheme - Requests exceed 7 billion lek, high interest in livestock

Over 41,000 farmers have applied to benefit from the national agricultural support scheme for 2026, while the value of requests has exceeded 7 billion lek, out of 5.2 billion lek that is the fund made available by the government. There has also been high interest in the livestock sector, where applications amount to about 3.3 billion lek, as well as in beekeeping, where requests amount to 1.1 billion lek, after the doubling of support from 10 thousand to 20 thousand lek per hive.
Over 280 young people have applied for the 10,000 euro grant, a measure that aims to encourage the involvement of young people in the agricultural sector. The Agency for Agricultural and Rural Development will conduct administrative verification and control of each file before announcing the beneficiaries.
The scheme provides financial support for various agricultural sectors, including livestock, beekeeping, sows and gilts, biological control, organic farms, Global GAP certification, planted areas, as well as restocking in inland waters.
The initial deadline for applications was June 26, but it was extended to July 6 to allow more farmers to complete the procedures.
The application process for the National Agricultural Support Scheme 2026 began on May 25 and aims to support the increase in agricultural production, the modernization of farms and the sustainable development of the sector.
