Governor Sejko receives the first ambassador of India - Focus, economic and financial cooperation

The Governor of the Bank of Albania, Gent Sejko, hosted in an official meeting the first Ambassador of India to Albania, Ravindra Prasad Jaiswal, where the focus of discussions was the strengthening of economic, trade and financial cooperation between the two countries.
During the meeting, the interlocutors assessed the positive relations between Albania and India, as well as the opportunities for expanding cooperation in areas of common interest. The discussions focused on economic developments in both countries, the prospects for increasing economic exchanges, and deepening institutional coordination.
Governor Sejko presented the latest developments in the Albanian economy, the monetary policies pursued by the Bank of Albania and the progress made in the modernization of the financial system. He emphasized that the Albanian economy continues to show positive growth rates, supported by consumption, investments and tourism, while maintaining price stability remains the main priority of monetary policy.
Regarding the banking sector, Sejko underlined that the financial system in the country remains well-capitalized, liquid and profitable, with low levels of non-performing loans. He also highlighted the increase in lending to the economy, as well as the advancement of the processes of digitalization and modernization of banking services.
The meeting also touched upon developments in the field of financial innovation and technological transformation of the banking sector. Both parties emphasized the importance of exchanging experiences, strengthening institutional cooperation, and promoting joint projects in the academic and research fields.
For his part, Ambassador Jaiswal expressed appreciation for the role of the Bank of Albania and confirmed India's interest in deepening relations with Albania, especially in the economic, trade and financial aspects.
