More students in vocational education - AKPA: 19.4% of total enrollments. Towards the target of 1 in 3 students by 2030

The National Employment and Skills Agency has announced that Vocational Education in Albania is experiencing a continuous increase in enrollment, reaching 19.4% of secondary education students. This is considered the highest level achieved in the last 25 years and an indicator of the growing interest of young people in vocational education and orientation towards the labor market.
According to AKPA, this growth is a result of the reforms undertaken by the Government in the vocational education sector, where in recent years investments have been made in the modernization of schools and the improvement of teaching conditions. Many institutions have been built and equipped with modern laboratories, which give students the opportunity to develop practical skills in contemporary conditions and to be better prepared for the professions demanded by the labor market.
AKPA emphasizes that the results so far are a positive step towards achieving the national objective that by 2030, one in three secondary education students choose Vocational Education.
Another important element of the reform remains the inclusion of qualified teaching staff and the opening of new professional profiles, adapted to economic and technological developments. Through these profiles, young people have the opportunity to pursue careers related to technology, services, tourism, industry and other fields with high demand for employment.
Likewise, the dual education model, which combines theoretical learning at school with professional practice in businesses, has also gained particular importance. This system helps students gain concrete work experience during their studies, increasing their chances of employment immediately after graduation.
