TIA breaks new records, over 1.1 million passengers in April/ London the main destination, growth supported by investments

Tirana International Airport has recorded another record month, confirming the strong trend of air traffic growth in Albania. According to official data, over 1.1 million passengers were processed during April, or 25% more compared to the same period last year.
The growth is also reflected in the number of flights, which reached 6,724 during April, an expansion of 24% year-on-year. In the first four months of the year, the airport processed a total of 3.29 million passengers, while aircraft movements reached 19,400.
London continues to be the most popular destination for travelers to and from Albania, with over 102,000 passengers in April alone. It is followed by Bergamo, Rome, Brussels and Bologna, while Treviso, Pisa, Istanbul and Milan have also recorded significant traffic.
At the same time, several new markets have shown extraordinary growth rates. Naples leads with an expansion of 329%, followed by Turin, Prague, Bucharest and Trieste, showing the continued diversification of air destinations.
During April, TIA operated with 23 airlines and connected Albania with 87 destinations in 28 countries. This growth is supported by continued investments in terminal expansion, technology and operational capacities, with the aim of consolidating the airport as one of the most important air transport hubs in the Western Balkans.
