The Albanian Road Authority has prepared the tender for the study and design of the northern entrance to Tirana, a project that aims to create a direct connection between the northern highways and the new Tirana ring road, bypassing Kamza.

The tender will have a limit fund of 138.6 million lek, while the project was announced a few weeks ago by the director of the Albanian Road Authority, Ami Kozeli, during the Inside News show on TV SCAN. Kozeli announced that the design of the northern entrance to Tirana is part of measures to ease traffic in the capital.

According to him, this new entrance to the capital will relieve traffic heading north, considering it an additional solution for city traffic.

Currently, a significant portion of traffic coming from the north passes through the Kamza junction to connect to the capital's main roads. The construction of a new corridor is expected to create an alternative for transit vehicles and reduce the load on the existing entrance to Tirana.

The project comes at a time when other important infrastructure investments are advancing in the Tirana area and the north-south corridor, including segments of the Adriatic-Ionian Highway and the Tirana bypass project, which aims to divert transit traffic outside urban areas.
