The anti-crisis package increases the cost for businesses — Their bill goes up to 6.8 million euros
The national minimum wage will increase for the second time within a year, by only 2,000 ALL, bringing it to 34,000 ALL. This decision was taken as a form of compensation to the citizens who are paid the lowest salary in order to help them cope with the unstoppable rise of prices.
However, this change also leads to increased costs for businesses and individuals, as they have to pay much more for social and health insurance. But how much will the net salary rise for each employee? According to the calculations of SCAN TV, with the minimum wage that was applied till this moment, an employee received a net salary of 28,416 lek, 3584 lek of which went to social and health insurance paid by the employee.
With the salary increase of 34 thousand gross ALL, an employee will receive a net of 30,192 ALL per month and will contribute 3,808 ALL towards social and health insurance. As said, the net salary increase will be 1,776 lek/month for each employee.
On the other hand, employers will only have costs. If they contributed 5344 ALL for each employee, now this value has increased by 334 ALL per employee. By calculating a total of 200,000 employees across the country with the minimum wage, the cost for business reaches 66.8 million ALL, or 567,000 euros per month.
If we calculate the expenses on an annual basis, businesses will have to pay 6.8 million euros more in contributions for all employees on the minimum wage. While in the case of self-employed workers, the social and health insurance contributions are all paid by the individual.
The minimum monthly salary for employees nationwide is mandatory and can be applied by any person, legal or physical, domestic or foreign. It is given for 174 working hours per month, performed during normal working hours. Meanwhile, the Resistance Package does not provide a support measure for businesses, which have also been affected by the increase in prices, which has led to more expenses for them.
