The number of employees and the wage fund in the services sector increases - ASK: The bar-restaurant sector has the largest increase with 5.84%

The Kosovo Agency of Statistics has published short-term statistics on services for May 2026, presenting changes in turnover, employment and wage bill in this sector compared to the same period of the previous year. According to KAS data, the turnover index in the services sectors during May 2026 marked a decrease of 4.68 percent compared to May 2025.
Turnover increases were recorded in professional, scientific and technical activities by 3.67 percent, as well as in publishing activities, audio-visual production, broadcasting, telecommunications, computer programming and information services by 3.46 percent. Turnover decreases were recorded in the hotel sector by 1.55 percent, in bar-restaurants by 2.82 percent, in transport and storage by 3.25 percent, as well as in administrative and support activities by 21.81 percent.
Regarding employment, ASK, the index of the number of employees in the service sectors marked an increase of 4.42 percent in May 2026, compared to the same month in 2025.
The increase in the number of employees was recorded in all activities included in the statistics. The highest increase was recorded in the bar-restaurant sector with 5.84 percent, followed by professional, scientific and technical activities with 5.65 percent and publishing activities, audio-visual production, broadcasting, telecommunications, computer programming and information services with 4.63 percent.
Employment increases were also recorded in transportation and storage, administrative and support activities, and hotels by 2.38 percent.
