Karakaçi: Support for transportation will continue, the effects of fuel prices will be reviewed in June

The Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Enea Karakaçi, stated that the government remains committed to supporting transport operators, while new consultations will be held with sector representatives in the coming weeks to analyze the impact of fuel prices and the need for other interventions.
During a press conference, Karakaçi recalled that the executive recently approved a compensation scheme of 50 lek per liter of fuel for public transport entities, as part of a package of measures to cope with the increased costs of the activity.
According to the minister, the decision was reached after discussions between responsible institutions and representatives of transport associations, with the aim of identifying the most appropriate mechanisms to ease the financial burden of operators in the face of oil market fluctuations.
Karakaçi stressed that the support scheme will take effect from March, despite its approval in May. He added that further meetings with associations will be held in early June to assess the market situation, price developments on international exchanges and their impact on the domestic fuel market.
"We will carefully analyze the developments of the coming weeks and will consider every opportunity to support the sector, if market conditions require it," the minister said.
He underlined that the energy and fuel market remains influenced by numerous international factors, so institutions will continue to monitor the situation and cooperate with operators to address any issues that may arise.
