Prices of agricultural products increased in 2025/ The index increased by 1%, driven mainly by the increase in the price of plant products
Agricultural product prices in Albania have continued their upward trend during 2025. According to data published by the Institute of Statistics (INSTAT), the annual agricultural product price index reached 151.2 points, up from 149.6 points a year earlier, recording an increase of 1%.
The data show that the main impact on this performance was had by crop products, whose prices increased by 1.4% compared to 2024. Meanwhile, livestock products also increased, but at a more moderate pace of 0.5%.
The Agricultural Product Price Index measures the change in prices that farmers receive for their products and is an important indicator of developments in the agricultural sector. Its calculation is based on Eurostat standards and is carried out through monthly data collection from farms, wholesale markets, livestock markets and other collection points across the country.
The group of plant products includes cereals, industrial plants, fodder plants, vegetables, potatoes and fruit trees, while livestock products include live weight meat, milk, eggs and honey.
The increase in the index indicates that farmers have benefited from higher prices on average for their products during 2025, although the growth rate remains relatively low compared to the strong fluctuations of previous years.
