Construction of the Rinas railway station - The winning company is announced, part of the Tirana-Durrës-Rinas line project

The Albanian Railways has announced the winner of the tender for the drafting of the detailed engineering and architectural project, as well as the construction of the Rinas Airport Railway Station building, an investment that is part of the Tirana - Durrës - Rinas railway line project.
According to the preliminary announcement of the winner, the contract was awarded to the company Hastoçi sh.pk, which submitted a bid worth 81 million lek excluding VAT, against a limit fund of around 91.6 million lek.
Six economic operators participated in the procurement procedure, while four of them were disqualified due to failure to meet the qualification criteria.
According to the tender documents, the construction of the Rinas station is considered a necessary element for improving passenger services and creating a modern and functional infrastructure, in function of the railway connection with the airport.
The project envisages increasing the accessibility of public transport, organizing parking areas, improving access to passenger platforms, pedestrian paths and sidewalks, as well as arranging areas for taxis, buses and spaces for dropping off and picking up passengers.
Currently, two main contracts are in place for the construction of the Tirana-Durres-Rinas railway line, one for civil works and signaling-telecommunications systems and another for the construction of eight station buildings. The winning company for the electrification of the line has also been announced.
The authorities' new objective is for the operation of this railway line to begin at the end of 2027.
