Rama on the meeting with Macron in Paris: European integration and the Albania-France partnership in focus
Prime Minister Edi Rama paid a visit to Paris, at the invitation of French President Emmanuel Macron, where the focus of discussions was the strategic partnership between Albania and France and the country's membership process in the European Union.
In the "Flasim" podcast, the head of government stated that the meeting constituted another stage in the political dialogue between the two countries, which, according to him, has intensified in recent years.
Rama announced that during the conversation, the progress of joint projects and France's support for Albania's European integration were discussed. The discussions also included the steps taken so far in the negotiation process and developments related to the future of the European Union.
According to the Prime Minister, France has an important role in advancing the enlargement policy and in defining new mechanisms for bringing candidate countries closer to European structures.
Rama also referred to the joint position of President Macron and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz on the need to create new instruments in the enlargement process.
Albania aims to conclude membership negotiations and advance towards full integration into the European Union, while the support of member states remains an important element of this process.
