Trade activity increases in the Port of Durres - APD: 43.7% more exports than a year ago

The Durres Port Authority announces that the first four months of 2026 have brought a positive performance for commercial activity and the local economy through the Port of Durres.
According to data from the APD, during the period January-April 2026, a total of 420,260 tons of goods were exported, marking an increase of 43.7% compared to the same period in 2025. The trade flows processed through the port reflect the increased competitiveness of Albanian products in international markets, the expansion of exchanges with international markets and the increasing role of maritime transport in the country's economic development.
On the other hand, the growth of exports is closely linked to the positive dynamics of the manufacturing, logistics and supply chain sectors. Meanwhile, the expansion of container transport is bringing more efficiency and capacity to the circulation of goods, directly affecting the increase in trade volume. The greater use of containers has brought increased processing capacities and increased security in the transport of goods. This has allowed the Port of Durres to cope with increasing trade flows and improve service standards for economic operators.
The Port of Durres continues to remain the main hub of maritime transport and trade exchanges in Albania, playing an important role in the country's economic development and in strengthening ties with international markets.
