How important is orientation to start a new business? - Sefa: Policymakers must guide entrepreneurship so that it does not fail

As confirmed by the figures of the National Business Center, young Albanian entrepreneurs and not only start out, through wholesale or retail trade. But how important is a market orientation when it comes to starting new businesses?
"Absolutely, policy-making institutions, whether central or local government, must orient and inform citizens at every step, so that they know in which direction demand is heading, which are the business sectors that will be most profitable in two years, 3-5 years, and which are those that will shrink. So that citizens do not invest and do not invest and spend their money in one direction, when they see that after two or three years, there will be reductions. Undoubtedly, their role is very important, and even essential at the starting point," says Ergis Sefa, Economics Expert.
But where do ideas for starting businesses in trade, services or accommodation originate? Why does Albanian entrepreneurship have this orientation towards this business?
"One of the main reasons that many people are moving towards service businesses is the fact that tourism continues to remain a pillar of our economy and everyone is aiming for those services that are somehow related to tourism. But if we look at the medium and long-term demand, there are many other subsectors and businesses that are opening in these subsectors that will be worth more in the medium and long term than these service businesses. But for this there must be a great orientation from policy makers, from the relevant institutions and on the other hand, the individuals themselves who want to open this business must make a mini market demand," he added.
