Tirana Grand Prix, retro car race in the capital - Director of DPSHTRR,

The Tirana Grand Prix, the largest event in Albania dedicated to historical RETRO vehicles, was held for the third consecutive year. This activity was organized by the Old Cars Club, with the support of the General Directorate of Road Transport Services (DPSHTRR).

The Director of DPSHTRR, Kreshnik Bajraktari, stated that this is not a speed race, but a regularity race, where the crew with the smallest deviation from the set time wins. He emphasized that after the event, citizens had the opportunity to visit closely and talk to the collectors of these cars about the history of their purchase or restoration.

"The special thing about this year is that in this third edition, a warm-up regularity competition is being organized, otherwise called a qualifying competition, in which enthusiasts of historic vehicles not only from Albania, but also from the region have participated. This is a regularity competition in which about 36 vehicles have participated, where each vehicle is composed of a pilot and a co-pilot. This event does not simply aim to organize the competition, but also aims to increase or promote historic retro vehicles in Albania ," said Bajraktari.

The Tirana Grand Prix brought iconic cars, exciting racing and a community united by elegance and automotive heritage to the streets of Tirana. But how many winners qualified for the big event that will take place in October?

"5 winners for the category of vehicles produced and 5 other winners of the category of vehicles produced until 1970 and 5 other winners of the category of vehicles produced after 1970. The 10 winners will participate in the big event, which will be organized again by the General Directorate of Road Transport Services at the beginning of October this year, where not only Albanians or from countries in the region will participate, but also from Italy or European Union countries" , emphasized the Director of DPSHTRR.

The race took place on a completely closed circular circuit, equipped with dedicated security measures, preliminary technical control and the presence of emergency services.
