Debts for OSHEE bills slightly reduced - Stock of arrears drops to 79.47 billion

The total debt that customers have towards the Electricity Distribution Operator has marked a slight decrease during the first four months of 2026, compared to the end of 2025.

According to official data, the value of unpaid liabilities to OSHEE from household customers, state institutions, non-budgetary entities and businesses reached 79.47 billion lek at the end of April 2026, from 80.89 billion lek at the end of December 2025.

The decline in the total debt stock was mainly influenced by the reduction in outstanding liabilities of household clients, businesses and public institutions, while liabilities in the non-budgetary category remained at almost the same levels.

Specifically, the stock of arrears for household customers decreased to 44.52 billion lek, from 45.16 billion lek at the end of 2025. For businesses, the level of unpaid invoices also decreased to 8.78 billion lek, from 9.50 billion lek at the end of December.

Meanwhile, for budgetary institutions, liabilities to OSHEE reached 5.19 billion lek at the end of April 2026, compared to 5.32 billion lek at the end of last year.

As for the category of non-budgetary clients, which also includes water supply and sewage companies, the debt reached 20.97 billion lek, up from 20.91 billion lek at the end of December 2025.

Although the overall stock of liabilities has marked a slight contraction during the first months of the year, the level of debt to OSHEE remains close to the 80 billion lek limit, reflecting the ongoing difficulties in fully collecting electricity bills.
