Public beaches, Minister Gonxhja: Different types and different payments according to cost

The Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sports, Blendi Gonxhja, spoke after the Government meeting about public beaches with fees. Gonxhja said that public beaches are being charged according to their typologies and maintenance costs. According to him, the daily maintenance of beaches in the south of the country has higher costs.
"The number of visitors to our country is at record levels that we have not seen before. We have an important innovation this year, regarding the management of beach stations, to make it possible to have a regulator in the market regarding prices and fees. And by adding a new typology, which is the typology of public beaches managed by local self-government units. In addition to the virgin beach, we also have the typology of beaches, which some municipalities have set up all the services, including umbrellas, sun loungers, or showers, which in some of the municipalities is charged at 700 lek or 1000 lek. This depends on the beaches. Because when we go south, towards Ksamil, of course the costs of maintaining these beaches, or the costs that are outside the off-season period, to maintain the sand, to protect the beaches from erosion, from the impact of the sea during the winter, etc., the costs that these coasts have, are much higher. "High. For this reason, the demand is also higher. There are some tariffs that are a little higher. The typologies of beaches have caused even private beaches to maintain price ceilings, due to competition from these public beaches," Gonxha said, among other things.
