“Change Albanian identity cards”! -The leak of data/Dervishi: Measures to “compensate” citizens

For several months, the personal data of Albanian citizens was made public and is now open to various abuses. But are there going to be any measures to protect them?

Besnik Dervishi, the Commissioner for the Protection of Personal Data, stated in an interview with “SCAN TV” that it will be proposed soon to change the identity cards of Albanian citizens as “compensation” for their personal data being made public against their will.

Meanwhile, among other measures that can be taken so that this situation does not happen again is the strengthening of information security systems.

As for those citizens who currently notice abuse of their personal data, Dervishi emphasizes that the main avenues to follow are complaints to the Commissioner and requests to the Court for compensation.
