Tirana Bypass, tender opens for phase III - Fund limit 1.55 billion lekë,

With a limit fund of 1.55 billion lekë, the Albanian Road Authority has opened the procurement procedure for the third phase of the Tirana bypass, a project that aims to divert transit traffic outside the capital.

This lot constitutes the link that will connect the bypass with the Tirana - Durrës highway in the Kashari and Vaqarr areas, creating a new traffic alternative for vehicles and contributing to reducing traffic congestion on the capital's urban roads.

Meanwhile, works continue on the first two phases of the project, where according to reports from a few months ago by the Albanian Road Authority, the physical realization of the contracts had reached about 20%. The first two lots represent an investment of about 5.9 billion lek and include a length of about 8.2 km.

The Tirana Bypass is expected to have a total length of approximately 21.6 km and will connect the Tirana - Durrës highway with the Tirana - Elbasan highway, avoiding the passage of transit traffic through the city. The project is conceived as a category A highway, with two lanes in each direction of movement, a design speed of up to 120 km/h and four main connecting nodes along its route. The technical documentation also foresees the construction of bridges, overpasses, underpasses and local roads, with the aim of improving road accessibility and safety.
