The competition for university starts in July - High school graduates choose up to 10 majors in 3 rounds of competition
After completing the State Matura exams, high school graduates and candidates who intend to pursue higher education should prepare for the university application phase. The Ministry of Education has published the university application calendar for 2026, which sets out the deadlines for paying fees, online application, ranking and registration in higher education institutions.
In the first round, the fee payment and online confirmation will be carried out from July 3 to 24, while the online application on the U-Albania portal will take place from July 27 to August 1. During this phase, candidates will have the opportunity to select up to 10 study programs. The ranking of applicants will be published on August 22, while appeals will be made on August 24.
University registration for the first round will take place from August 26 to September 8, through 7 48-hour phases. Candidates who do not register or who choose to deregister from the first round will have the opportunity to participate in subsequent rounds.
The second round begins on August 30 with the payment of the fee and continues with online applications from September 15 to 17. Meanwhile, the third round, which includes candidates who did not apply in the first two rounds, will take place during October.
The Ministry calls on high school graduates to carefully follow the established deadlines and complete all procedures on the U-Albania portal on time, so as not to risk losing the opportunity to enroll in the desired program.
