The General Inspectorate strengthens controls - Signs cooperation agreement with the State Police

The General Inspectorate is expected to strengthen field controls to prevent and crack down on unauthorized construction, environmental crimes, illegal work and violations in the labor market, as well as to increase the safety of food, medicines and medical equipment.
To this end, the Chief Inspector General, Dashnor Sula, and the Director General of the State Police, Skënder Hita, signed a cooperation agreement. Representatives of both institutions assessed that this agreement represents a joint commitment to strengthening institutional capacities and increasing public trust, through closer and more sustainable cooperation.
The Director General emphasized that the State Police is maximally committed to supporting the Inspectorate, at the central and local level, as well as any other institution, with the aim of enforcing the law and increasing the safety of life for citizens.
Meanwhile, Mr. Sula emphasized the importance of signing the agreement, which aims to strengthen inter-institutional cooperation, in order to guarantee the implementation of applicable legislation, strengthen the rule of law, protect the public interest, and prevent and combat crime in areas of common interest.
The focus of this agreement will be particularly to support inspections of the General Inspectorate structures, central and local inspectorates, as well as other inspection structures, in high-risk sectors, such as: illegal construction, environmental crimes, food safety, medicines and medical devices, illegal work and violations in the labor market, guaranteeing coordinated and effective intervention during the exercise of duty, in cases of physical resistance, obstruction in the performance of duties or for the protection of personnel, by the subjects of the inspection proceedings or various individuals.
