What stage of military production is Albania in? - Ministry of Defense: It is a very complex process. Every product requires licensing.

The first orders for ammunition are expected to be delivered by the end of the year, according to the contracts that the Ministry of Defense has with its partners. According to the Ministry of Defense, the military production process is very complex, as each product requires licensing, while the conflict in the Middle East has also affected the interruption of supply chains.
"The difficulties we have had recently with the arrival of goods, the arrival of production lines, the assembly of production lines and the commissioning of factories have slightly shifted the deadlines, but this does not mean that they will not be respected according to the contracts," emphasized the Minister of Defense, Ermal Nufi.
"This is a very complex process, seen from the Agency's perspective, we follow in the licensing process, so every step, every development that the industry makes, there are certain standards that must be met, there are also some legal criteria that we must meet. Within 2026, November-December, the aim is to deliver the first orders according to the contracts obligated with the Ministry of Defense. Also, light tactical vehicles, medium and heavy tactical vehicles are expected to be delivered within 2026, so with a delay of several months. The contracts are several years, they do not end in 2026, the delivery begins within this year, but they will continue according to the terms of the contract in 2027 and beyond", said Dorian Tola.
The Director of the Defense Industry Agency, Dorian Tola, stated that 5 licenses have been granted for the production of military products, while in total there are 16 licenses, most of them for their trade.
"The Defense Industry Agency, so far, has granted 5 licenses for production and demilitarization to 5 companies that were created with KAYO partnership and local private partnership. We are also waiting for another company, Fincantier, which once registered will be announced as a joint venture, as a concrete official cooperation. In total, we have granted 16 licenses, this is to tell you that some licenses are trade licenses. They have been granted to Albanian companies that deal only with trade", said Tola.
Regarding the fires, the Director of the National Civil Protection Agency stated that this summer the country has full capacity to cope with any emergency in this regard.
