Farmers' compensation starts from July 1st - 5-step application procedure,

Starting July 1, farmers will have the opportunity to apply to benefit from the 10% compensation on sales invoices for agricultural products for the period from January to June.

Referring to data from the tax administration, for the period January - May 2026, the value of the compensation that farmers can benefit from is around 10.7 million euros, taking into account sales in June, the value is assumed to be even higher.

The Tax Administration clarifies, through a practical guide, registered farmers on the application procedure.

According to the tax administration, only farmers registered as agricultural producers with the tax authorities, who are not registered for VAT and who have an active nephew will be beneficiaries.

According to the tax authorities, the application is made in 5 main steps. First, the farmer identifies himself in his personal eFiling account with his NIPT and password and then goes to the “My Issues” menu.

After ensuring that he has first filled in his bank account details in the "Bank Details" menu, he clicks on the "My Issues" section.

In the issues area, you must select the option "Create a New Issue" and "Farmer Refund Request".

Farmers must then fill out the form, in which we select the invoices they want to include and the bank account where they want to receive the money.

The system automatically calculates the total amount and the 10% compensation.

The application is completed by clicking on "Submit Request". The farmer is then given the opportunity to continuously follow the status of the request, and the response is found in the "Submitted" menu. At the request of the Tax Administration, farmers may be asked to attach additional documents according to the requested information.

After the request is submitted, it is automatically forwarded to the Regional Tax Directorate where the farmer is registered, then the data is verified according to the legal criteria of the scheme. The procedural treatment of the case is carried out and finally the farmer receives an Approved or Rejected response in the “Submitted” menu.

Referring to tax data in the first 5 months of the year, compared to the same period in 2025, there are 25% more VAT buyers buying products from farmers; 24% more farmers selling their products to VAT buyers and a 19% increase in the value of transactions carried out.
