How is the Youth Grant affecting employment? - Hoxha: Coordination is needed, interest from young people is high
Recently, the government has approved changes to the decision regulating the implementation of the Employment and Skills Strategy, extending the Youth Guarantee plan for the period 2026-2028. Employment expert Edison Hoxha indicates that this initiative is a necessity, but its implementation must have the right mechanisms.
"It is a very important instrument, mainly for those who have lost their orientation in the labor market and aims to reduce youth unemployment, which is very high, not only in our country, but also in the countries of the region. Several institutions need to be coordinated. The interest from young people is very high ," says Hoxha.
Hoxha also points out the factors why businesses are having difficulty finding employees, while on the other hand many young people are unemployed.
"The void is created when employees at work do not find some mechanisms to stay. The first is the salary, it must be supportive, there must be a salary that increases gradually and covers needs. Working conditions, hours, meritocracy. If all these instruments were functioning properly, the Youth Granacia would also be successful ," says Hoxha.
