The National Support Scheme 2026 starts on May 25 - AZHBR informs farmers about the application conditions

Farmers will have the opportunity to apply for subsidies from the National Support Scheme 2026 starting on May 25. On the eve of the opening of the call, the Agency for Agricultural and Rural Development is holding a series of information meetings across the country to orient applicants on the procedures and criteria for benefiting.
One of these meetings took place today in Berat, where agency representatives presented the details of the scheme and the documentation that farmers must complete to successfully apply.
The Director of AZHBR, Ardita Kuçi, announced that the institution's specialists have provided clarifications on the conditions of benefit, administrative procedures and the method of application for each of the support measures foreseen for this year.
During the conversation with the farmers, special attention was paid to the opportunities offered by the scheme for developing agricultural activities, increasing production and improving the competitiveness of farms in the market.
According to AZHBR data, the National Scheme 2026 includes a total of 9 direct support measures and 3 investment measures, designed to ease production costs and promote investments in the agricultural and livestock sector.
The program is supported by an initial fund of 5.2 billion lek and was designed after consultations with farmers from different areas of the country. It aims to create more financing opportunities for farmers, supporting investments, mechanization, product certification, livestock development, expansion of cultivated areas and formalization of agricultural activity, in accordance with European Union practices and standards.
