The Albanian Road Authority has announced the opening of the tender for the construction and reconstruction of the Northeastern Ring Road connecting the Arbri Road. The limit fund foreseen for the realization of this investment is 491 million and 341 thousand lekë.

According to the document published by the Public Procurement Agency, the intervention will take place on “Myslym Keta” Street, in Administrative Unit 4 of Tirana. This road axis is considered a strategic node, as it connects “Aleksandër Moisiu” Street with Arbri Street and serves as one of the main arteries of vehicle movement in this area of the city.

The segment that will be subject to intervention has a length of about 3 linear kilometers, while its width varies from 7 to 10 meters. Currently, the infrastructure presents numerous problems, including damage to the asphalt layer, depreciation of sidewalks, insufficient public lighting and outdated sewage systems.

The technical document of the project highlights that in some parts of the road, cracks and potholes have been created in the asphalt, which affect traffic safety and the comfort of drivers. Also, the existing sidewalks are in a worn-out condition, making it difficult for pedestrians, especially the elderly, children and people with disabilities, to move around.

Another problem identified is the lack of complete public lighting along the entire segment. According to the project, some areas remain unlit at night, affecting the safety of residents and road users. The intervention foresees the complete rehabilitation of the road, the reconstruction of sidewalks, the improvement of the lighting system and the modernization of sewage and wastewater systems. The project aims for the new infrastructure to better cope with the increasing flow of vehicles and the urban development of the area.

According to the set objectives, the road segment will be fully asphalted, existing damage repaired and a more stable surface created for vehicle traffic. At the same time, sidewalks will be improved to ensure safety and accessibility for pedestrians.

The project also includes the installation of a new public lighting system. Meanwhile, the rehabilitation of the sewerage system is expected to reduce flooding problems during intense rainfall. According to the document, the interventions will also be accompanied by new urban elements, including the improvement of public spaces, the creation of better parking opportunities and the increase of greenery. This project will facilitate traffic, increase road safety and create better conditions for residents and users of this road, the Public Procurement Agency document states.
