ADF, reconstruction of roads in several cities - From Koplik to Konispol. Investments in road infrastructure

The Albanian Development Fund has announced the opening of two important tender procedures, with a total fund of approximately 850 million lek, for the implementation of investments in road infrastructure in some of the areas with high economic and tourist potential in the country. The projects aim to improve access, connectivity and regional and local mobility, including interventions in Shëngjin, Koplik, Konispol and Elbasan.
According to the document at the Public Procurement Agency, the first tender, with a limit fund of 518 million lek, includes the arrangement and asphalting of the road at the entrance to the city of Koplik, the segment connecting the city's exit with Bajza, as well as the completion of works on the Shëngjin Bypass.
Currently, the Shëngjin bypass is under construction and is considered a work of strategic importance for the development of tourism and the local economy.
According to the document, the works so far in this segment have been carried out up to the ballast layer, while the new phase of the intervention will focus on completing the road package and equipping the axis with all the necessary safety and functionality elements.
Meanwhile, the entrance and exit roads of the city of Koplik will be reconstructed. The project is divided into two main segments. The first segment starts from the roundabout at the entrance to the city and ends in the center of Koplik, while the second segment continues from the center towards the roundabout at the exit of the city in the direction of Bajza.
According to the document, the two segments have a total length of more than 3 kilometers and lie in an area with a combined urban and agricultural character. The reconstruction of the road will significantly improve the movement of residents and facilitate traffic.
Meanwhile, the Albanian Development Fund has announced a second tender with a fund limit of over 331 million lekë. This project includes the reconstruction of the entrance road to the city of Konispol, as well as the improvement of the “Bajram Curri” road in Elbasan.
In Konispol, the intervention will be carried out on a road segment approximately 1.7 kilometers long, which serves as the main entrance to the city.
Technical verifications have revealed that the current road presents significant damage to the asphalt layers, deformations of the road body and a lack of necessary safety elements. This investment aims to improve traffic conditions for residents and public services, guaranteeing safer and more efficient access to the southernmost city of the country.
Meanwhile, in Elbasan, the project envisages the reconstruction of "Bajram Curri" street, a 480-meter-long internal urban axis, which is widely used by residents and businesses in the area.
