Rama in Tokyo: Albania aims to deepen partnership with Japan, invitation to NATO summit in Tirana

Prime Minister Edi Rama was welcomed with state honors in Tokyo during his official visit to Japan, where he held a meeting with his Japanese counterpart, Sanae Takaichi. The welcoming ceremony was held with a guard of honor, marking an important moment in relations between the two countries.
In his statement before the start of the official talks, Rama expressed his gratitude for the hospitality reserved by the Japanese authorities, praising the ceremony as a special experience among the many state receptions he has attended during his political career.
The head of the Albanian government emphasized that Albania and Japan share the same democratic values and a common vision for the international order, underlining that there is great potential for further strengthening bilateral cooperation. According to him, Tirana is interested in expanding the partnership with Tokyo in various strategic and economic fields.
Rama noted that this is his second visit to Japan within a short period of time, which he said reflects the importance Albania attaches to relations with the Asian country. He also confirmed Albania's support for Japan's strategic vision in the Indo-Pacific region.
During his speech, the Albanian Prime Minister extended an official invitation to the Japanese Prime Minister to participate in the NATO summit to be held in Albania in 2027. Rama emphasized that such a visit would have a special symbolism, as it would be the first time that a Japanese Prime Minister would make a state visit to Albania.
In conclusion, he congratulated Takaichi on the result of the recent elections and praised her role in leading the Japanese government, expressing his belief that cooperation between the two countries will enter a new phase of development and partnership.
