Over 6,400 businesses with debts are automatically deregistered - Amnesty Law,

The tax administration is continuing the process of unconditionally forgiving businesses' unpaid tax liabilities.

According to data from the General Directorate of Taxes, there are 10,881 taxpayers who have benefited from the automatic deletion/cancellation of 4.8 million euros in unpaid tax liabilities, while 6,475 taxpayers have been automatically deregistered, in accordance with the provisions of the Amnesty Law.

The tax administration reminds businesses that June 30, 2026 is the deadline for the payment, in a single installment, of 50% of the main obligation (principal) for the period 01.01.2015–31.12.2019, in order to benefit from the cancellation of the remaining 50% of the principal, as well as the full forgiveness of fines and late payment interest.

On the other hand, the Tax Administration has taken the necessary measures to identify and notify taxpayers who do not benefit from the facilities provided for in this law, based on the concrete data administered.

Taxpayers who have been notified of this fact, agree with the notification communicated by the Tax Administration, must submit a request/complaint to the relevant Regional Tax Directorate, with the relevant documentation such as a certificate of judicial status; a certificate from the prosecutor's office; a certificate from the court; any other evidentiary document issued by the competent authorities. And in the case of the article that exempts taxpayers with a final decision, they must submit any evidentiary document, including a court decision or other official act that proves that there is no final judicial decision issued in favor of the tax administration for the unpaid obligations.

In the same manner, requests for waiver of the right to sue/appeal, according to the provisions of the law, previously filed by the taxpayer with the competent court, will also be filed.

After reviewing the documentation and conducting the relevant verifications, the Tax Administration will evaluate each claim submitted and will respond to the taxpayer. If it is found that the taxpayer meets the conditions set out in the law, the necessary measures will be taken to ensure the benefit of the relevant facilities, guaranteeing the fair, transparent and uniform application of the law for all taxpayers.
