Transparency Board reduces fuel prices, diesel to 209 lek/liter

The Transparency Board decided to reduce fuel prices at its meeting held on April 11, 2026, reflecting fluctuations in international markets.

According to the decision, the retail price for SSH EN 590 standard diesel will be no more than 209 lek per liter, while the wholesale price will be no more than 197 lek per liter. Meanwhile, for gasoline, the maximum retail price has been set at 175 lek per liter and 163 lek per liter in the wholesale market.

These prices came into effect today, April 11, at 4:00 PM and will remain in effect until the next Board decision, which will reflect new changes in the market.

The authorities have called on all oil by-product trading operators to rigorously implement this decision, warning that any violation will be accompanied by strict measures, up to and including suspension of activity.

The Ministry of Economy and Innovation, in cooperation with the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy, emphasizes that it remains committed to protecting consumer interests and ensuring fair competition in the market.

In an additional clarification, it is announced that current prices are below the limits set by Normative Act No. 1, dated April 3, 2026, which means that the excise duty level will be applied in full, at 100%.
