University admission criteria change/ For teaching programs, average grade from 7-7.5

The grade point average criterion for university admission will undergo changes, mainly for study programs related to teaching.
The Council of Ministers has approved several changes to the 2020 decision on determining the minimum grade point average for the admission of candidates to Bachelor's programs and integrated second-cycle programs in higher education institutions.
According to the decision, candidates who want to pursue first-cycle studies or integrated second-cycle programs must have completed upper secondary education with a minimum average grade of 6.5.
Meanwhile, higher criteria are set for study programs related to teaching. For admission to Bachelor's programs in the field of teaching foreign languages, the minimum average grade will be 7.
For Bachelor's programs that provide access to the second cycle of master's degrees in the field of teaching, the minimum average grade is set at 7.5. The same criterion will also apply to the study program that prepares teachers for preschool education.
The decision also changes the title of the previous act, removing from the wording the part related to the transfer of studies in intermediate years. The existing annexes are replaced with a new annex, which is expected to define the specific study programs affected by the new criteria.
