“Water Bandage Tariff” - Resolution for the WRA: Encourage water utilities to apply it. Reduce and reduce the tariff.

The Assembly requests the Water Regulatory Authority to encourage water supply and sewerage companies to apply block tariffs, or as it is also known, band tariffs. These tariffs mean that the price of water increases if consumption exceeds the defined level of the first block, a scheme that aims to stimulate more efficient water consumption by customers.
"It is also the application of block tariffs, which has been a commitment of all water supply and sewerage companies and AKUK itself to be encouraged to implement as a recommendation for 2026 that the WRA requires a dedicated financial planning for structured, systematic investments for the installation of water meters in production and at the same time to encourage water supply and sewerage companies to apply block tariffs ," said Anila Denaj, chairwoman of the parliamentary committee on Natural Resources, Infrastructure and Sustainable Development.
The resolution for 2026 also calls for a reduction in the afrofe tariff for consumers.
"There are currently measurement methods for some of them that do not have meters, which is called measurement with a certain system and methodology, which should encourage that throughout all new investments that are taking place in water supply and sewerage, the percentage of those that are not measured with meters, i.e. aforfe measurements, be reduced, so that we have zero possibility of aforfe measurements in the future," said Denaj.
During the discussions before the adoption of the Resolution in the Parliamentary Committee on Natural Resources, Infrastructure and Sustainable Development, emphasis was also placed on monitoring the performance of water utilities in terms of employment. The committee also requested that the relevant report be made available to it within October, which, unlike previous years, has been postponed by 6 months.
