Rama: We significantly increased salaries and per capita income

Prime Minister Edi Rama, also chairman of the Socialist Party, at the meeting of the SP Lushnja Assembly, brought to attention some statistics that prove economic growth in the country.
"We started the work with an average of 300-400 million foreign investments, we have gone over 1.5 billion. We started the work with 2 million or so tourists. All Albanians who went abroad when they entered Rinas or Kakavija were counted as tourists, 2 million or so came out.
We have managed to have 12 million with foreign passports in Albania," said Rama.
The Prime Minister also recalled that this majority took over the country with a Gross National Product under 10 billion, while today we are 27 billion and in 2030 we will reach 35 billion.
"We started with less than 3,000 euros per capita, today we are 11,300, if I'm not mistaken, per capita. We started with a ridiculous average salary. Today we have an average salary of 870 euros, because the average salary is constantly increasing because it increases in the private sector and we have to follow it every three months, while in the public sector it has gone over 1,000 euros," Rama said.
The Prime Minister also emphasized that the salaries of doctors, teachers, police officers, military personnel, and administration personnel have increased.
"Today we have also introduced indexation for salaries, which we knew was necessary, but we could not do. We only did indexation for pensions, because we could not leave pensioners without pension increases and without indexation, because it was their fault that we left them at the mercy of inflation and therefore when the salary increase was x, inflation, no matter how low we have always had it, reduced purchasing power. Today it is no longer there, today every salary also has inflation indexation," Rama added.
