Corridor VIII, tender opens for voltage lines - The contract also affects the Tirana - Durrës axis, limit fund 166.7 million lek
The Albanian Road Authority has opened the tender for the drafting of the technical project for the relocation of high-voltage lines affected by the construction of Corridor VIII, one of the necessary interventions for the continuation of works on this strategic axis. The limit fund is around 166.7 million lekë, while according to the accompanying documents, the scope of the contract is not limited only to the Elbasan - Librazhd segments of Corridor VIII, but also includes the expansion of the Tirana - Durrës axis.
An interesting element is that the ARA has expanded the scope of the design to other cases that may arise during the development of infrastructure projects. The Terms of Reference foresee that the same contract can also be used for the relocation of high voltage lines in other road or infrastructure projects where interference with the power transmission network is created.
"This also includes other similar cases outside this corridor, when the route of a road, railway, energy, urban, industrial or public infrastructure project interrupts, limits or creates interference with existing electricity transmission lines," the document states, among other things.
Meanwhile, the design must guarantee the continuity of electricity supply, avoid conflicts with road infrastructure and respect safety distances. For the affected segments in the Librazhd and Përrenjas areas, the document also requires consideration of geological issues, including landslides in the Dragostunja area.
