From public transport to water supply, 65 million euros additional for municipalities - Demo: "Rilinda 2.0", financing package for local government

Public transportation, investments in water supply and sanitation, or interventions in the agricultural sector will be the focus of the Rilindja 2.0 program, which will be presented soon.
Minister of Local Government Ervin Demo announced the priorities of central government interventions in cooperation with local government, so that municipalities can provide standard services.
"Renaissance 2.0", a new development approach with a focus on territorial transformation, support for start-ups, health centers and the development of industrial zones" - said Minister Demo.
In parallel, the minister brought to attention that the Normative Act on amending the budget for 2026 provides for an additional 65 million euros for municipalities, for investments in local infrastructure.
"Through the Normative Act, an additional financing package of 65 million euros was approved for municipalities, which will go towards investments in local infrastructure through various programs such as the restoration of various facades, rural roads and asphalting," the minister added.
Demo also spoke about the municipalities' handling of emergencies, recalling the financial support through a program worth 20 million euros. He also announced the granting of a bonus to firefighters, as a way to guarantee the motivation of employees.
