Data on education and culture show that these fields are gaining an increasingly important role in Albania, both in terms of young people's choices and in the labor market. During the 2025-2026 school year, about 16,100 thousand students in the field of culture were enrolled in higher education, with a significant portion of them choosing branches related to architecture and construction.

According to statistics, architecture and construction have resulted among the most preferred fields by students, with around 6,100 registered. This trend shows a high interest in professions that combine the technical with the creative side and that are directly related to the development of cities, urban planning and the transformation of spaces.

Beyond education, the cultural sector is also emerging as an important space for employment. Around 33,800 thousand people are engaged in cultural activities and professions, which account for 3% of total employment in the country. This includes a wide range of professions, from artistic and creative fields, to activities related to cultural organization, management and promotion.

Meanwhile, developments in the cultural sector are also accompanied by changes in the market for goods and services in this field. During 2025, the highest price increase was recorded in the “Books” category, with an increase of 2.9%. This reflects changes in the costs of cultural products, but also the continued importance of the consumption of books and educational materials.

In terms of public funding, entertainment, culture and religious affairs occupy a share of the state budget, with 1.65% of total public spending and a share of 0.50% of Gross Domestic Product. This level shows that culture remains a supported sector and part of public policies for social and economic development.

At a time when Albania is increasing cultural activities and attracting more domestic and international interest, data shows that investment in education, creative professions, and the cultural sector is creating a broader basis for the development of the creative economy in the country.
