343 cases of counterfeiting of coins in 2022: The Bank of Albania sets an agreement with two institutions for the protection of lek and euro currencies

343 cases of currency fraud in our country have been registered through 2022. This is a decreasing figure according to the Bank of Albania, which signed a cooperation agreement with the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Prosecutor’s Office to increase the security and quality of banknotes both in lek and euro.

The decreasing numbers were declared by the General Prosecutor, Olsian Çela, who also listed the numbers of criminal proceedings in recent years.

The signing of the agreement, according to the Bank of Albania, aims to help it exercise its role in guaranteeing the stability of the financial system in the country and the quality of the national currency in circulation.
