Businesses “sleep” with tax obligations. More than 22,000 new debtor entities are added

According to the data administered by the General Directorate of Taxes, during the year 2022, there will be over 109 thousand debtor businesses with passive status. From the same data, it is emphasized that there are 182,379 debtor subjects in total.

But how has 2023 started? Referring to the data from the Directorate of Tax Debt Collection, the trend of unpaid debts has increased since the beginning of the year to over 22 thousand subjects who have not liquidated their tax debts.

Only in January of this year were more than 190,000 tax payers found, of which 38% were active tax payers and 62% were passive tax payers. We remind you that in January of the year that I left behind, over 168,000 taxpayers were in debt.

Besides the fact that they are debtors, the Tax Administration has recorded cases where businesses have differences in invoices.

According to the institution, a series of announcements have been made after a significant number of cases with differences in the sales book declared in the e-filing system and invoices registered in the fiscalization system by the Directorate of Risk Management in the General Directorate of Taxes.
