"The reconstruction of Ukraine is not charity, but a strategy" Rama: A strong European commitment is needed
Prime Minister Rama participated today in the Conference on the Reconstruction of Ukraine, which is taking place with the participation of heads of state and government, international financial institutions, business representatives and civil society organizations from around the world.
“I am sure that the best contribution you expect from me is a short word, that is what I will do. I believe that the concept of this meeting is very simple: if reconstruction waits until the last bullet falls, then it will already be too late. And that is precisely why we are here today. Meanwhile, Ukraine is rebuilding, while at the same time defending itself. This is the great meaning of this conference. Albania is here with a very simple conviction: Ukraine must secure peace with the same determination with which it is defending its freedom. On the other hand, we see the reconstruction of Ukraine and the European integration of the Western Balkans as processes that reinforce each other. Both are about completing Europe, strengthening its resilience and reducing strategic vulnerabilities. Of course, reconstruction is not charity, but strategy. It is not just about repairing what has been destroyed, but about building a democratic, European, modern and sustainable Ukraine, showing that all of Europe is capable of doing it. "And, in conclusion to this short speech, which I am sure you will appreciate, Ukraine is rebuilding the courage of Europe. Europe must help rebuild Ukraine's future."
The conference aims to strengthen international support for Ukraine and mobilize investments for the country's reconstruction and long-term development.
Its work focused on the sectors most affected by Russian aggression, including energy, critical infrastructure and logistics, as well as on strengthening security and defense capacities, considered essential for the reconstruction process.
