What’s wrong with the self-employment tax?

The new tax law that provides for the inclusion of freelancers in the income tax scheme during the next year has several defects, for which the affected party requests a review in order to avoid penalties. In an interview for SCAN, Meri Lika, legal audit, points out that freelancers who are new to business and have less than three clients are forced to pay taxes as self-employed. This is the main point suggested to be reviewed in the draft law, which has not been approved yet.

As for the inclusion in the income tax scheme, freelancers consider it a fair initiative.

The 15% tax-profit scheme will be implemented in 2023, introducing free professions or those with high profit margins that provide services to other companies. There are 42,000 entities in total that have been identified, but some of them will not be part of the taxation scheme next year because they offer utility services such as shoemakers, tailors, barbers, etc.
