Who is the new head of SPAK?

Prosecutor Altin Dumani has been elected as the new head of the Special Structure Against Corruption and Organized Crime (SPAK). Three years ago, Duman failed to win even though he was one of the leading candidates. Duman managed to get 5 votes, more than the other two candidates, Ervin Kondili and Adnan Xholi.

Dumani has had a career spanning more than two decades in the ranks of the prosecution. He came to SPAK from the Appeal of Serious Crimes, where for a period of time he covered the duties of the Commander-in-Chief.

He started his career as a prosecutor in Saranda and is known as the person who accepted the position as head of the Tropoja Prosecutor’s Office in 2000, at a time when no one else was accepting that position. Dumani is best known for the Gerdec Case, where he requested three life sentences as well as heavy sentences for other people involved in it.
